At Amputee Clinic, our role as therapists is not just to reduce edema, prevent contracture or alleviate pain. Our primary role is to help patients improve their function and counsel them throughout the entire process of rehabilitation. We also want to help patients avoid further disability (including another amputation) due to the underlying disease. Remember, above all, that success owes as much to the patient as it does to any skill the prosthetist might possess.
