Prosthetics in Bonita Springs, FL

Bonita Springs sits where nature and neighborhood blend together, a place where people value wellness, outdoor living, and staying active well into their years. Golf courses, beach access, nature preserves close by, and a community that moves. Amputee Clinic builds prosthetic devices around the person wearing them, their body, their routine, their goals, and we do it close to home for people in Bonita Springs and the surrounding areas.

We handle the whole thing here. Fabrication, first fittings, adjustments down the road, repairs when parts wear out. You get clinicians who know your name, not a rotating cast of strangers.

What we make

Bonita Springs Prosthetics Services

Our prosthetics work in Bonita Springs covers everything from a first limb fitted after surgery to repairs on a device you have relied on for years. Every prosthesis is built to one person’s measurements, and most of our effort goes into the socket, since that piece decides whether the limb gets worn all day or left behind.

Service 1 ↗

Prosthetic Arms

An arm handled a hundred jobs, and you know which ones you miss most. Body-powered arms run by a cable and harness, myoelectric hands driven by muscle signals, and passive designs for people who care most about looks.

Service 2 ↗

Prosthetic Knee

Microprocessor, hydraulic, polycentric, single-axis, weight-activated, manual locking. The priciest prosthetic knee is not automatically the right one. We match the joint to the miles you walk.

Service 3 ↗

Above The Knee Prosthetic

The toughest fit there is, because a prosthetic leg above knee depends on its socket controlling a shorter, softer limb. Carbon fiber builds, seal-in, suction or elevated vacuum suspension, aligned while you walk, not on a bench.

Service 4 ↗

Below the Knee Prosthetic

Below knee leg prosthetics start from a cast or scan of your own limb, with silicone gel liners and an energy-storing foot. Fastest road back to walking, provided the socket is right.

Service 5 ↗

Prosthetic Foot

Energy-storing, multiaxial, articulating, microprocessor-controlled. A prosthetic foot gets picked wrong more than any other component, usually because nobody watched the patient walk first.

Service 6 ↗

Partial Foot Prosthetics

Toe fillers and custom partial foot prosthetic devices rebuild your balance, fix how shoes sit, and stop the compensating limp that follows a lost lever. Widely under-prescribed, Bonita Springs included.

Service 7 ↗

Prosthetic Leg

Complete lower limb prostheses from the socket out, plus the refits, liner swaps and repairs that follow. Most of our long-term patients come back for this, not for a new limb.

Prosthetic consultation

“They didn’t treat me like a patient. They treated me like family.”

WE HEAR YOU

When a socket stops fitting.

Sockets don't quit overnight. They drift. Limb volume shifts with weight, with activity, with plain time, and the socket wears a little more each month. Bonita Springs heat and humidity pile on too. A season of beach walks, nature hikes, or morning rounds means sweat, moisture changes how the liner seats, and suddenly the limb is moving around in ways it didn't last month.

The warning signs show up the same way for nearly everyone. More socks than you used to need. Something shifting inside the socket mid-step. Red marks that never used to appear. A leg that feels loose or less trustworthy than before. Maybe you catch yourself taking it off earlier in the day without really deciding anything. Ring a bell? Come see a prosthetist in Bonita Springs, FL and let's figure out what actually changed. Sometimes it's an adjustment. Sometimes a repair. Occasionally a new socket, but honestly, less often than you'd think.

THE AMPUTEE CLINIC EXPERIENCE

What Patients Can Expect at Our Bonita Springs Prosthetics Clinic

A prosthetic provider turns into a long-term relationship whether you planned it or not. You'll know this team for years. So it matters that they listen, explain things without talking down to you, and stay reachable when something changes.

Personalized Care

Your limb gets built around your anatomy and your actual week, beach time and nature walks included. Not around whatever worked for the last patient in the chair.

Custom-Focused Solutions

Everything starts from your measurements. Individual design and fitting is how we work by default, not an upgrade you have to request.

Clear Communication

We tell you what we're doing and why. If an answer doesn't land, say so. We'll explain it another way.

Ongoing Support

Adjustments, repairs, the follow-ups nobody thinks about on day one. That's where most of this relationship actually lives, and we don't vanish after delivery.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR OWNER

A note from the man behind
the work.

Our owner
“

Hi, I’m Marcum. For nearly 50 years I’ve had the privilege of helping people walk, stand and live again. I started out in the trades, working with my hands, before earning a full gymnastics scholarship to Southern Illinois University and training as a Physical Therapist and Prosthetist.

Every device we build at Amputee Clinic is shaped by that same hands-on care, because I believe a prosthetic should be made for one person, not made to a spec. When I’m not in the lab, you’ll find me at the gym, at church, in the Bible or chasing my grandchildren around the yard. I’d love to meet you.

Your Prosthetic Care Journey in Bonita Springs, FL

There’s no single appointment where you “get a prosthesis.” It’s a sequence. Consultation, measurements, fitting, training, then years of small corrections. We keep the whole thing personal, built on your mobility, your routine, your goals. You’ll understand every option before anything moves forward. That’s a promise, not marketing copy.

Initial Consultation & Assessment
Your first visit is a conversation plus an exam. Our prosthetist examines your residual limb, watches how you move now, goes over your medical history, and asks about your days. What does this limb need to do? That's where we start.
Precise Measurement & Scanning
Bad measurements make bad sockets. Simple as that. So we slow down here, detailed measurements, a scan of the limb, everything documented, because this is the foundation the entire device sits on.
Custom Design & Fabrication
Nothing comes off a shelf. Your prosthesis gets built from your numbers, your activity level, your comfort needs. The socket takes the lion's share of the attention, along with every component attached to it.
Initial Fitting & Adjustments
When the device is ready, we don't just hand it over. We check the fit, watch you walk, and make changes right there. Comfort, stability, alignment, and how the limb behaves while you're actually moving, not standing still in a quiet room.
Training & Rehabilitation
Nobody just "puts on" a new limb and heads back to the trail. There's a learning curve, and it's different for everyone. We work with you on walking, balance, stairs, and your real routine, at whatever pace your body sets. Some patients move fast. Some take longer. Both are fine.
Ongoing Support & Follow-Up
Then the long tail. Regular check-ins, quick repairs when we can manage them, adjustments as things shift. Bonita Springs patients keep coming back for exactly one reason. The care doesn't stop when the invoice clears.

Why Bonita Springs Patients Choose Amputee Clinic

Here’s what patients tell us they want, in their own words. A team that doesn’t rush them. Straight talk about options, no jargon dump. And somebody who gets that prosthetic care has to survive real life out here, the morning beach walk before the crowds, time on the fairway, exploring preserves with family, and a wellness-focused community that expects to stay mobile and engaged.

For folks looking for prosthetic care in Bonita Springs, FL, that’s the experience we try to run. From the first phone call through years of follow-ups, we learn what each person actually wants back from their mobility, because decisions made on guesswork never hold up.

Personalized care, honest answers, and staying power. That’s the whole pitch, really.

Prosthetics FAQs

Have Questions About Prosthetic Limbs, the Fitting Process, or Insurance Coverage?

Get answers to the most common questions patients and families ask before starting their prosthetic journey.

Why is Amputee Clinic one of the best prosthetics clinics near Bonita Springs?
A few reasons, honestly. Our clinicians have over 100 years of combined experience between them. Every device is built off one person's measurements, never a template. Billing and insurance authorization happen in house, so the paperwork chase isn't yours. And the care keeps going after fitting day, repairs, adjustments, home visits across the Bonita Springs area. That last part is most of the job, even if nobody puts it on a billboard.
What prosthetics services do you provide in Bonita Springs?
The full list, pretty much. Above knee and below knee prosthetic legs, arms, feet, partial foot prostheses and toe fillers, custom sockets, suspension systems, repairs. Also post-surgical fitting, gait training, and home visits when the drive into town is a hassle.
Do you offer custom prosthetics in Bonita Springs?
Yes. Everything starts with a cast or a digital scan of your own limb. If a clinic is "customizing" by resizing a stock mold, that's not custom. That's tailoring, and it's a different thing.
Do you fit an above knee prosthetic in Bonita Springs, FL?
Yes. Above knee work lives and dies by the socket, since a transfemoral socket has to steer a shorter, softer limb through every step you take. We build carbon fiber sockets with seal-in, suction, or elevated vacuum suspension, and alignment gets set while you're walking, not standing still.
What about a below knee prosthetic in Bonita Springs?
Below knee leg prosthetics come from a cast or scan of your limb, silicone gel liners, and an energy-storing foot. Most patients are walking sooner than they expected. The socket has to be right from day one, though. That's the whole game at this level.
Can I golf with a prosthetic leg?
You can, and golfers ask us constantly. Walking eighteen is a genuine test for a prosthetic foot, uneven lies, long walks between shots, Bonita Springs heat layered on top. We pick components for how you actually play, then set the alignment while you're on your feet, not parked on a bench. Some patients even keep a second setup just for the course. Tell us your home course and how often you play. It genuinely changes what we build.
Do you provide long-term prosthetic support after fitting?
That's most of what we do, honestly. Adjustments, repairs, maintenance, rehab check-ins. Watch for the signals too. More socks than usual. A knock sound when you step. Fewer hours wearing the limb with no real reason why. Any of those, book an appointment. Don't sit on it.
