Prosthetics in Estero, FL
Estero is wedged between Naples and Fort Myers, a place where families actually live their lives outdoors. You’ve got shopping centers, restaurants, golf courses, and nature preserves all within reach. Most people here built their routines around staying busy and staying mobile. Amputee Clinic builds prosthetic devices for the actual person wearing them. We think about your body, what you do during the week, where you want to go, and we build it right here in your community.
We don’t outsource. Fabrication happens here. Your first fitting happens here. Adjustments, repairs, all of it stays in-house. You work with the same clinicians the whole way through. No new faces every time you call.
Estero Prosthetics Services
We make prosthetic limbs for people starting their journey after amputation and for people who’ve been wearing one for decades and need repairs or upgrades. The socket is where we spend most of our energy. Get the socket wrong, and you’re not wearing the limb. Get it right, and you forget it’s there.
Prosthetic Arms
If you lost an arm, you know which tasks matter most to you. Cable-driven arms work with your body's movement. Myoelectric hands respond to muscle signals. Passive hands prioritize appearance. We discuss what you actually need.
Prosthetic Knee
There's no such thing as the "best" knee. The most expensive knee isn't the right knee for you. Some knees work for casual walkers. Others handle uneven terrain or faster walking speeds. We match the mechanism to how much you actually walk.
Above The Knee Prosthetic
Above-knee prosthetics are harder to fit than below-knee. You're controlling a shorter residual limb through every step, and the socket has to be dead accurate. We build carbon fiber sockets, test different suspension methods, and dial in alignment while you're actually walking.
Below the Knee Prosthetic
Below-knee starts with a mold or scan of your actual limb. You get a gel liner for comfort and an energy-returning foot. Most people walk again faster at this level than they expected. The socket setup matters, though. Get that wrong, and nothing else matters.
Prosthetic Foot
Energy-storing feet return power to your step. Multiaxial feet handle uneven ground. Some feet respond to walking speed. Others lock at the ankle for stairs. We watch how you actually walk before recommending a foot.
Partial Foot Prosthetics
Lose a toe or part of your foot, and your whole balance changes. Shoes sit wrong. You start compensating with your other leg. A partial foot device restores that balance and fixes your gait. These get prescribed less often than they should.
Prosthetic Leg
Full leg prosthetics from the socket up, plus all the maintenance that follows. Refits when your limb changes volume. Liner replacements. Repairs on components. Most of our long-term patients come back for exactly this.
“They didn’t treat me like a patient. They treated me like family.”
When a socket stops fitting.
A socket doesn't fail suddenly. It gets looser over time. Your residual limb changes size with weight changes, increased activity, and just living life. The socket sits a little different every month. Add Florida humidity and sweat into the mix, and the gel liner seats differently than it did before.
Every patient describes the same warning signs. You buy more socks to make up for the fit. The limb shifts during your step in a way it didn't last season. Skin gets irritated where it didn't before. The prosthetic feels less stable. Or you just start taking it off earlier in the day without making a conscious decision about it. Sound familiar? Call us for an appointment. We'll figure out what changed. Sometimes a simple adjustment fixes it. Sometimes you need a repair. Occasionally, a new socket, but it's rarer than most people think.
What Patients Can Expect at Our Estero Prosthetics Clinic
You'll work with the same prosthetist over months and years. That relationship matters. They need to actually listen to you. They need to explain their decisions without talking down to you. And they need to stay accessible when something changes between appointments.
Personalized Care
We build your limb for your body and your actual life. Not a generic solution that worked for someone else. Your schedule, your activities, your goals all factor into what we build.
Custom-Focused Solutions
Every prosthesis starts with your numbers. Cast or digital scan. Custom fabrication. That's the baseline, not an upgrade option you request.
Clear Communication
You get told why we're making decisions, how components work, and what trade-offs exist between options. If something doesn't make sense, speak up. We'll explain it again.
Ongoing Support
The real work happens after delivery. Adjustments as your body changes. Repairs when parts fail. Follow-up appointments. That's most of the job, and we don't disappear once you leave.
Care That Goes Beyond Prosthetics
The work doesn't end the day your device arrives. Patients often need adjustments, repairs,
guidance, follow-up appointments, and steady support as their situation evolves over time.

A note from the man behind
the work.
Hi, I’m Marcum. For nearly 50 years I’ve had the privilege of helping people walk, stand and live again. I started out in the trades, working with my hands, before earning a full gymnastics scholarship to Southern Illinois University and training as a Physical Therapist and Prosthetist.
Every device we build at Amputee Clinic is shaped by that same hands-on care, because I believe a prosthetic should be made for one person, not made to a spec. When I’m not in the lab, you’ll find me at the gym, at church, in the Bible or chasing my grandchildren around the yard. I’d love to meet you.

Why Estero Patients Choose Amputee Clinic
Patients tell us they want a team that takes their time. Straight talk, no jargon that you have to decode yourself. Someone who gets that your prosthetic has to work in real life. Running errands around town. Keeping up with family. Doing the things that matter in a place like Estero where you built your life around being active.
That’s what we aim for. From your first call through years of follow-ups, we learn what you actually want back. Decisions built on guesswork never survive contact with real life.
Honest care, clear explanations, and staying accessible. That’s the whole approach.

Your life matters. We want to hear about your days, your challenges, what you're trying to get back to. We don't assume the last patient's solution works for you.
Think Long Term
The first appointment isn't the end. Your body changes. Your activity shifts. Your goals evolve. Your prosthetic has to adapt. We build relationships that last years, not one fitting.
